Dr Abdul is a Lecturer in the Department of Finance at the University of Dar es Salaam Business School (UDBS) which she represents in the UDASA Executive Committee. She has a Bachelor of Commerce in Corporate Finance and an MBA in Finance, both from the University of Dar es Salaam. Also, she has PhD in Business Administration focusing on Microfinance Groups and SMEs Development, which was a sandwich programme by the UDSM and Copenhagen Business School.

Dr Abdul has extensive knowledge, expertise, and experience in carrying out research, training and consulting in Banking and Financial Services, Small Enterprise Development and business management, Microfinance, Leasing Finance, Private Sector Development, Business Planning and Analysis and Public Policy Analysis and Advocacy. She has done several consultancies works with ILO, BEST- Dialogue, Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA), Agricultural Council of Tanzania, Zanzibar Association of Tourism, Mkombozi Bank, National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA), Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI) and several other institutions in Tanzania.

Dr Abdul teaches courses in the field of finance, particularly, Banking and Financial Institutions, Microfinance, and Corporate Finance.
