Dr Msuya is the Vice Chairperson of UDASA. She is a Lecturer in the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Dar es Salaam.
Dr Msuya holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering, an MSc in Renewable Energy and a BSc in Chemical and Process Engineering, all from the University of Dar es Salaam. She has extensive knowledge of renewable energy and process engineering. Her research interests and area of expertise include bio-chemical conversion: anaerobic digestion, fermentation and composting; thermochemical conversion: combustion, gasification and pyrolysis; bioprocessing, purification and separation technics, polymer production, plastic technologies, hazard and risk management, environmental impact assessment, water treatment and waste management. She enthusiastically employs her skills and expertise to address and promote environmental protection. Her current research projects focus on cleaner production of bioproducts from biowastes.
Dr Msuya teaches several undergraduate courses in chemical and process engineering including engineering thermodynamics, process plant technology, industrial ecology, risk assessment and management; and postgraduate courses in chemical and process engineering, integrated environmental management and renewable energy.
